not going alone

June 23, 2011

The last two weeks have covered seven states and another country, if you count Texas as its own. If all goes according to plan, the next two months will cover two more states and another country.

This time it’s definitely another country: Papua New Guinea. We’ll have three months of training there, which will include how to cook new foods over fires, how to speak a pidgin language, and how to do fewer things that are completely culturally inappropriate.

Packing for another country feels daunting. Thankfully, we have a Procurement Team. My sisters, sister-in-law, and mom are helping us find things like loads of sunscreen and first aid supplies. Thanks, ladies!

Their help reminds me that we’re not going alone. Many of you are already on board with Bible translation and have been mighty encouraging to us so far. Even better yet, God is walking ahead of us and with us, and he already knows what’s going to happen now and once we get overseas.

We’re pretty excited to see what adventures we’ll have as we prepare to work with a group of Pacific islanders to get the Bible into their language. Stay tuned!

I am so excited for you all! I pray and think of you often and will continue to do so. You are definitely not alone. If there is anything you ever think of that I can do to help (from Armenia) please let me know! And when I get back to the states next year look forward to care packages because I now know of how much immense value they are! Before you leave I’d love to return the love and pray with you 🙂 I’ll be following your journey!
