Grandma

August 4, 2014

I was very thankful to be able to go to my grandpa’s visitation and funeral.  It was a blessing to be able to see family we hadn’t seen for a few years.  It was also fun to hear stories of his life and interact with some of his friends and coworkers.

Unfortunately after the burial on Friday, my grandma had a stroke. She had just gotten home and then stopped responding.  She went by ambulance to the hospital.  We spent Friday afternoon and evening at the hospital with her.  She was in very rough shape Friday night.

Here’s answered prayer: by Saturday she had started responding a little, Sunday she was talking more, and then today during our visit she was communicating a lot more and starting to work on her mobility.  Join me in praising God for her recovery so far and for His comfort to her and the family during this time.  Please pray for her continued recovery and health.

Often through the tragedy, God heaps blessings! It was a surprise and shock for Grandpa’s passing, yet a blessing for Grandma to be surrounded by family in town for the funeral when her stoke occurred. We are praying with along with you for her recovery and that she will have no deficits as a result of this stroke. It sounds like she is making great progress. Very helpful to have so much love to encourage her. We continue to pray for all of you during this difficult time.

Thank you so much for this update, dear ones. I’m thanking our Lord with you all for answered prayer for your much loved grandmother, for the fact that you were already there to participate in the encouragement and interaction of the family together in this new crisis, and the good medical care she has received and her increased responsiveness — thank You indeed, dear Lord!! Continuing to pray with you all. I’m so glad He brought you back to the USA so you could be here with the family at this important transitional time. Much love to you all, dj
