birthday boys

May 22, 2016

We’ve celebrated two birthdays this month.

The boys get a lot of mileage out of colored frosting and sprinkles.

D and I made the cake for M’s birthday while M was gone for the day with John. (M had previously agreed to this.) D is quite proud of our art.

This cake was half pink and half purple, with blue and red frosting and red sprinkles, per the birthday boy’s request.

To D’s delight, the container of frosting we received recently in a care package happens to be the same color blue as Thomas the Train.

This kid has been missing both top front teeth for a few months. Looks like a kindergartner.

Their birthdays were celebrated several days apart. I just now realized that these must be D’s and M’s favorite shirts.

Baby G had been playing outside, which makes cake preparation about twenty times easier. We brought him in to the kitchen for the singing, pictures, and eating.
